In this and following posts I will share with you stories from around the world about sufferers with different circumstances whose lives changed after switching to a gluten free diet.

An operation needed? Maybe not.
A teenage girl was diagnosed with the digestive disorder, Crohn’s disease.
Limited medical intervention hadn’t helped and the doctors wanted to remove part of her colon; her parents wanted to avoid this last-ditch effort.
The girl was put on a gluten-free diet and within 30 days all of her symptoms cleared up.
Artificial colouring and flavouring.
A 10-year-old girl was having major behavioural problems typical of a child with an attention deficit disorder. She couldn’t concentrate or sit still. She was impulsive and easily distracted. Naturally, her schoolwork was greatly affected by her inability to concentrate.
Her mother wanted to avoid exposing her daughter to medicines such as Ritalin and had been diligent in managing a diet with no artificial colouring or flavouring. This strategy is often effective with children who have ADD but it was not with this girl.
Although there were no physical symptoms suggesting a sensitivity to gluten she was put on a trial gluten-free diet. Within weeks her behaviour changed dramatically and at school her learning and grades improved so much she was moved from a special education class to a normal class.
