About Gluten Free Health

September 8, 2008

Hi. Welcome to www.glutenfreehealth.net

This is the inaugural post for this blog and I am very excited about the opportunity to share with you our knowledge, views, and information regarding Coeliac Disease.

Soy Products (Sales) Pty Ltd, the owner of the FG Roberts brand, is a family owned and operated Australian company with a great history and depth of experience.

Mr. F.G. Roberts (1892 – 1977), a renowned Naturopath, Dietitian, Chiropractor  and Educator, worked from a home base in Melbourne, Australia  and serviced an Australia wide chain of health shops and clinics from the 1920’s – 1970’s. After taking control of a small subcontract health food manufacturing company, Roberts produced the first commercial soy based foods for human consumption in Australia in 1936 using imported American ingredients. These products included “Soy Compound” which is still on the market today as a gluten free milk substitute.

In 1954, V.R. and M. Smith bought Roberts’ share of the business after a two year partnership. From that day until this my father (still active in the business at 90 years of age), my family, and our great team of dedicated workers have been proudly producing natural, wholegrain, preservative free, non-genetically modified products. A tradition we have extended to gluten free and wheat free products since 1990 as we have steadily progressed towards having a totally gluten free site and product range. An objective we achieved in 2001 in order to avoid any conflicts of interest and any risks of accidental gluten cross contamination. This uncompromising approach is our gluten free guarantee and the only way in which we believe gluten free foods should be made. In the process, we trust we have helped to change people’s lives for the better.

As industry leaders for over 50 years we are passionate about and take great pride in our work and we truly love to hear the positive stories resulting from the use of our products.

I look forward to sharing with you many true and encouraging stories through this blog.  Stories that show how Coeliac sufferers like you and / or your loved ones have been able to find relief and good health through information and quality products.

In Australia today there are more than 250,000 people suffering from Coeliac Disease – and not all know it or know how to deal with it. There are also many who experience other difficulties with wheat, gluten and bread improvers including Autism sufferers.

Through our research and experiences, we understand that those with the disease, often in the first instance, are overwhelmed with all the changes they need to consider and make. However, we guarantee that as time passes and your knowledge increases, hopefully with our help, your dietary decisions will become easier.

Over time we will develop within this blog different sections, with information, real life experiences, hints on eating out, and more practical information.

And we would love to share stories from our readers in the hope one person’s experience can benefit another.  If you have anything relating to Coeliac Disease that you would like to share with us and all our readers please send an email to info@glutenfreehealth.net

Please join me on this wonderful journey.

Warm regards.

Paul Smith
